A decoration project for a duplex apartment in the center of Madrid.
S+DLH wanted to create a balance between a classic atmosphere and contemporary furniture. For the living-dining room we relied on very neutral upholstery, bringing clarity and tranquility to the space. The sofa and tables were designed by S+DLH studio for this project. A very representative piece in the living room is a work of Jaime Sicilia, in gold leaf.
In the dining room there are Chippendale chairs around the large mahogany table. Both spaces are visually very integrated.
The clients inherited very outstanding furniture and decorative arts, such as the walnut desk in their bedroom, the two-piece mahogany desk in the living room or the painting that presides over the entrance, among others. All the furniture underwent a restoration process by a team of restorers who work at the Prado Museum, because over the years they have been very deteriorated.

It is a project in collaboration with Ballarin+Mendoza, who have done the architectural design and construction management.

Being a young couple we have designed fresh spaces, such as the office where the colorful chairs provide a more casual point between the wood and the dark kitchen.
