S+DLH was hired to renovate a duplex in the centre of Palma de Mallorca, a 300-square-metre residence where the primary goal was to restore and respect the original state of the early 20th-century building.
For this reason, we chose to design a custom kitchen in Scots pine, the same material used for woodwork in the rest of the house. We used noble materials such as oak for the chevron parquet flooring, honed natural stone cladding for the bathrooms, and Marquina marble for the worktops.
We designed non-recessed spotlights in distressed brass to make the most of the high ceilings and cornices. As a special touch, we also designed several porcelain lamps for the dining room table.

Taking advantage of the living room’s symmetry, we installed two large glass partitions on the sides, one leading to the kitchen and the other to the sitting room. This connects all three rooms, creating a sensation of spaciousness and light.
